Luminex
Luminex is a sci-fi 2D platformer developed by Quantum Horizon Studios, an indie team of five passionate developers. Set aboard the USS Subrogare, a massive prison ship, the story follows Cypher Steele, a prisoner who awakens to find the ship infested by a deadly fungal outbreak. Armed with unique abilities like Dimension Shift—which lets Cypher traverse infected and uninfected dimensions—and Invert Gravity to access challenging areas, Cypher must uncover the truth, confront mutated enemies, and survive. As the Lead Programmer, I designed and implemented the game's core systems, including player movement, enemy AI, weapon upgrades, and gameplay mechanics. Our team adopted an agile approach, continuously refining these features to enhance player experience and ensure stability. Quantum Horizon Studios values player engagement and plans regular updates to introduce new abilities, enemies, and levels.
